Knowledge & care
The art of the flame.
Every Echelon Maison candle is crafted to reward attention. A few simple rituals will deepen the scent, extend the life, and protect the vessel.
Our fragrance families
Understanding the scents
Each Echelon Maison fragrance is built around a distinct olfactory character — a mood, a memory, a material. Here is how to read them.
Luminous & Clean
White tea · Cedar · Musk
Bright, airy, and quietly sophisticated. These scents open with green or aquatic top notes before settling into warm, skin-close musks. Best suited to living rooms, bathrooms, and spaces where you want presence without weight.
In the collection
Warm & Resinous
Amber · Sandalwood · Vanilla
Rich, enveloping, and deeply comforting. Resinous bases anchor sweet or spiced top notes into something that lingers long after the flame is extinguished. Ideal for bedrooms, reading nooks, and evening rituals.
In the collection
Dark & Smoky
Black oud · Smoke · Vetiver
Austere, complex, and unmistakably bold. Oud and vetiver create a deep, woody foundation that smoke and leather accents push into something almost architectural. For those who want a room to feel transformed.

Candle care
Rituals for a longer burn
The first burn
Allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the vessel on the very first burn — typically two to three hours. This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even, fragrant pool on every subsequent use.
Trim the wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 5mm. A shorter wick produces a cleaner, steadier flame, reduces soot, and extends the life of the candle significantly.
Burn time
Never burn for more than four hours at a time. Extended burns overheat the vessel and can cause the fragrance to become acrid. Allow the candle to cool fully before relighting.
Extinguishing
Use a snuffer rather than blowing out the flame. This prevents wax from splashing, eliminates smoke, and preserves the integrity of the fragrance for the next burn.
Storage
Store your candle away from direct sunlight and heat sources, with the lid on when not in use. UV light fades fragrance oils and can discolour natural waxes over time.
The vessel after
When approximately 10mm of wax remains, retire the candle. Clean the vessel with warm water and mild soap — it is designed to be kept, repurposed, or displayed long after the last burn.
